“This season a mother will become a warrior, a son will become a hero, and their only ally will be a friend from the future.” - Tagline from Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles.

Terminator fans across the country are eagerly awaiting the series premiere of the new Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles, scheduled to air in two parts beginning in January 2008. The series, which is supposed to take place after the events of the Terminator 2: Judgement Day movie hit, stars Lena Headey as Sarah Connor, Thomas Dekker as John Connor, and Summer Glau as Cameron Phillips.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor ChroniclesSynopsis
After witnessing the ultimate sacrifice from the T-800 Model 101 Terminator, Sarah Connor and her son realize that they are still being hunted by Skynet’s agents from the future. Deciding that they must end this once and for all, they stop running and focus all of their attention on thwarting the birth of Skynet. Cameron Phillips, an agent from the future who is hired to protect John Connor, befriends them and together they set out on a mission to stop the United State’s military from creating a program that will ultimately destroy all of humanity.

Producers
Josh Friedman (“Supernatural” and “Smallville”) with David Nutter (“War of the Worlds”) and C2 pictures, who also produced Terminator 3, will be producing the series. Fox Broadcasting gave the go ahead when Warner Bros. Television hired David Nutter to direct the pilot. Josh Friedman said in a June 2007 interview that the show will avoid the “Terminator of the Week” plot, and that there will be many other threats other than those of Terminators. Friedman, who assisted in planning the story for the first season, also holds a rough idea for the plot of the next 3 seasons already.

Casting
The gruelling casting process took over 16 weeks, and auditions included actors and actresses from not just the United States, but also from Canada, Australia, and England.

For the role of Sarah Connor, Josh Friedman who is also the creator of the series, wanted someone “who embodied that spirit and who was believable in that role and not just some glammed up, Hollywood, actressy thing.”A good friend recommended English actress Lena Headey, and after watching the audition tape, Friedman thought that she was a very tough woman and perfect for the part. Headey was offically cast on November 7, 2006. Thomas Dekker, who will be playing the role of John Connor, was cast on December 7, 2006. In reference to his role, Dekker stated, “They are like my favorite films when I was younger. So it's very ironic that I'm getting to do this.”

The series premiere takes place on Sunday January 13, 2008 at 8pm/7pm central and also on Monday January 14, 2008 at 9pm/8pm central on FOX.
